Vigilante #11 is a flashback story as reporter Gerry Grey recounts his story of how he first encountered The Vigilante, why now he wants nothing more than to take down the anti-hero, and how he has spent his time accomplishing that task.

Writer Marv Wolfman continues to do a good job making Vigilante an interesting character that you want to continue to follow. Granted, it is sometimes hard to remember if you are reading Vigilante or a Punisher book as the characters have quite a few similarities. I think even Wolfman acknowledges this by having a little fun in one panel where Gerry presses Vigilante for an explanation as to why he kills criminals by asking if it’s because they killed his wife or kid – which are the well documented reasons for Punisher’s actions.

I can’t say I am overly thrilled with the art in this issue which is done by Walt Simonson and John Paul Leon. I have never been huge fan of Simonson’s style which often appears somewhat jagged and un-detailed to me. If you are a Simonson fan, then you will likely have no problem with the look of this issue.

The tease for next issue – all our questions will be answered, and after having read the last 4 issues I can’t wait to see what happens next in this title.
